Tega &Tula Special Coffee Farm: Ethiopia

The farm

Tega & Tula Special Coffee Farm was established in 2000 with the vision of planting and processing high quality coffees. The farm is divided into two units: Tega and Tula. GERA is the highest area of Tega Farm with altitudes ranging from 1850 - 1902m and covers approximately 14 hectares. This coffee is part of a micro lot that has been carefully hand picked, washed and processed. This lot is 100% traceable and has consistently received high Q1 SCAA Speciality Gradings over the past four years.

Taste

Our 100% organic Arabica from Ethiopia brings a piece of coffee tradition from the home of coffee into your living room. Fruitiness is written large here. Whether as filter coffee or espresso, our organic Arabica captivates with sweet peach and fresh apricot and is so velvety-creamy, as if you had a whole pack of Werther's Original in your mouth. Light almond notes round out the taste perfectly.

Degree of roasting: medium to dark- Sweet freshness is maintained, almond and toffee are enhanced.

No flavors added

Peach, almond and cream toffee in coffee? Yes, and all naturally! More than 800 natural flavors can be found in coffee, without any additives. They are created by a wide variety of factors, such as the type of coffee, the conditions under which it is grown, its processing and roasting, and finally, you can also influence the variety of aromas in your coffee by the way it is prepared.

BIO coffee by unbound

From the very beginning, we at unbound coffee roasters have been careful to buy from small farms under fair conditions. With our specially developed trace-back-to-farm seal, it is possible for us to determine the exact origin of our beans and to always be informed about cultivation and working conditions on site. Nevertheless, the idea of including a certified organic coffee in our product range never really left us...

In the end, it took us three full years to find organic coffees of our desired quality standard and many more hours to perfect their roasting.

Hand roasted in Tyrol

With special care, your roast master Cati and boss Flo take care of the selection of the green coffee and its roasting with their own hands. For the packaging of the coffee, the Lebenshilfe Tirol actively supports us. In the 15kg drum roaster, the beans are gently roasted to the optimal degree with the latest roasting software from Cropster and thus develop their full aroma.

In our show roastery in Wattens in Tyrol, everyone is welcome to look over their shoulder as they roast, or to taste their way through the range to find the perfect coffee for home.

Preparation methods differ in the degree of grinding.

This plays a very big role for the taste. We want our coffee to taste perfect. Therefore, you can choose the grind accordingly.

Coffee grinder owners (congratulations!) or fully automatic machine owners please choose "whole bean"!

If you choose ground for portafilter, feel free to use the comment function during the order and specify your machine. Even better, of course, is to grind it yourself. Electric - and hand grinders you will find at the Accessories.
