When the cocoa bean is roasted, it develops its full aroma and the bean is processed into chocolate. The cocoa shell (which also carries the aroma of the bean) dissolves during gentle roasting and is ideal for making tea.


Preparation of cocoa shell tea

Pour 1 heaped tablespoon per cup (approx. 200ml) of boiling water over it and leave to steep for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the taste and characteristic aromas to develop. It can be drunk hot or cold.
